Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and high-availability cloud infrastructures that support mission-critical applications. Leverage cloud platforms and best practices to ensure uptime, fault tolerance, and performance, while planning for future growth and evolving business needs.

Treat security as an integral part of every phase of development, ensuring that secure design principles are applied from the start.

Design and deploy comprehensive telemetry systems to monitor application performance, system health, and usage metrics.

Ensure that the team has the tools it needs to effectively diagnose incidents as they happen and/or during later forensic analysis

Build strong relationships with clients, product managers, and engineering teams, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.

Architect and implement automated CI/CD pipelines that streamline development, testing, and deployment workflows.

Collaborate with application engineers to help them maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize their CI/CD pipelines. Provide guidance on best practices for automating deployments, continuous testing, and version control, ensuring that each pipeline supports a smooth and efficient development lifecycle.

Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers, guiding them through complex technical challenges, offering constructive feedback, and encouraging a culture of continuous learning.

Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to establish clear goals, timelines, and deliverables for the project.

Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.

Basic Qualifications

U.S. citizen or lawful Permanent Resident Aliens (green card) with at least three (3) years of U.S. residency from the date of legal entry in the U.S.

All work must be conducted within the U.S.

Must be able to capable of receiving a Public Trust level clearance

As a contractor to the federal government, all hires may be required to complete additional background screenings at the time of hire or any time thereafter as requested

6+ years deploying and operating highly trafficked, high visibility projects in cloud computing environments

3+ years automating CI/CD pipelines

3+ years deploying via one or more infrastructure management patterns, e.g., immutable infrastructure, canary deployments, blue/green deployments, etc.

2+ years writing infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform

1+ years managing and deploying Docker images to containerization platforms like ECS, Fargate, EKS, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience architecting complex systems

Expertise managing system interactions and integrations

Expertise with networking protocols, tools, and troubleshooting

Professional Skills

Support multiple applications teams

Modernize existing infrastructure, tooling, and processes

Be a voice in ongoing operational decision-making

An ability to solve problems even in unfamiliar circumstances

An ability to manage and communicate work priorities; DevOps work often involves collaborating on previously unknown problems

Strong oral and written communication skills and the willingness to use them

A strong sense of ownership and engagement
