This role requires a public affairs, strategic communications, and/or media relations background and will focus on public relations related activities that support a cybersecurity-focused organization.The candidate will be highly motivated, data driven, and will help grow the capacity of ICF Next’s Media Relations Practice. Strong candidates will have experience writing communications materials and helping clients measure there outreach efforts to meet their communications goals.If you are passionate about strategic communications and have the requisite prior experience, we'd love to talk to you. This is an exciting role offering excellent opportunities to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and uniquely positioned organization.Key Responsibilities:

Draft news releases, pitches, case studies, white papers, media summaries and other communication deliverables.

Create backgrounders and prepping materials to support media opportunities.

Research story ideas and content for media.

Assist in distributing daily news clips, as well as analysis of print and online stories to determine the effectiveness of outreach.

Assist in creating monthly media report by searching and categorizing large amounts of media coverage every month, as well as ad-hoc media coverage reports.

Stay apprised of the latest trends, tools and techniques used to garner earned media coverage, as well as digital and traditional outlets covering cybersecurity and infrastructure security news.

Assist in onsite media trainings in Rockville, MD.

Maintain a SharePoint database containing interactions with media outlets.

Qualifications:

Currently holds, or is able to obtain, DHS Fitness Determination

BS/BA in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience assisting with media-related activities or campaigns and knowledge of public relations and integrated media.

To include: working knowledge of Cision, Meltwater, Critical Mention, MuckRack or similar media monitoring programs.

Preferred Skills and experience:

Excellent communication skills, especially being a strong writer.

Strong research and organizational skills.

PR agency, corporate or government agency experience preferred.

Self-starter, with ability to manage tasks and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
