DescriptionICF’s Disaster Management Division is seeking a Proposal Writer who is genuinely passionate about writing persuasive proposal content for state and local government audiences. This position is 100% Remote in the United States.We need someone with experience gathering information from multiple sources, interviewing subject matter experts, and conducting additional research in order to craft a concise and influential narrative. You’ll work with skilled graphic designers, brilliant problem solvers, savvy strategists, and a team of writers to help develop compelling, impactful, and responsive proposals to win new work and enhance our market position.We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and capable Proposal Writer, who is genuinely passionate about strategy and positioning us to win. We are looking for someone who will add to our cohesive team dynamic, develop strategic / compelling proposals, and coach winning orals / interviews.What you’ll be doing: Work with capture/BD teams for pre-RFP proposal prep including solutioning sessions, often using Mural boards. Review formal Request for Proposal to identify client requirements, then review, validate and strengthen our proposed discriminators accordingly. Interview technical staff to creatively convert complex, weedy subjects into compelling copy that can be readily reviewed and understood by the lay person. Support the preparation, management, and administration of the organization's customer RFP responses, including the coordination of effort with all involved parties Describe solutions to meet client’s unique needs, presenting benefits/value of approach, staff and experience. Determine gaps in the response, ensuring all questions or comments in the document are addressed Incorporate edits and comments from reviewers (and provide review of other’s content) to prepare a winning proposal that clearly shows the benefits/value of selecting ICF. Review proposal response to validate accuracy, ensure adherence to company policy (through coordination with contracts, pricing, and other corporate functions), satisfaction of customer specifications, and quality of material sent to customers.Please provide an updated resume aligned to the qualifications, skills and experience required.Must Have Qualifications: 2+ years' experience writing competitive proposal content, preferably within a professional services firm serving state and local government clients. 1+ years of editorial writing and copy creation experience. Bachelor’s degreePreferred Skills/Experience: (These provide more edge and preference than candidates who have only the required skills) Experience responding to RFPs from the disaster management and/or broadband sectors. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills – proposals are a team sport at ICF. Experience with Adobe Creative Design Suite, SharePoint and Mural. Basic knowledge of Adobe graphics applications, i.e. Illustrator, InDesign. You understand the importance of subject matter expertise and how to leverage this knowledge to develop easily digestible content. Able to write original text, e.g., cover letters, executive summaries, corporate and team qualifications, introductions to technical sections, etc. You’re a driven self-starter with a positive outlook, flexible nature, and tenacious work style. The pay range for this position is:$52,488.00 - $89,230.00Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
