Randstad is partnering with a prominent law firm to hire a Land Use and Zoning Legal Assistant for a top-performing practice group in Virginia. This is a permanent opportunity and will join a team of 3 talented real estate professionals, focused on both established and expanding client matters in Virginia. MUST HAVE: experience requesting public records from state and local municipalities and public agencies AND permitting and zoning experience. Salary Range for this role: $90-110,000, non-exempt role with bonus potential. Supporting dedicated land use/zoning project team with zoning entitlement process
Working cross-functionally with internal counsel, consultants, clients, staff and elected officials
Prepares applications and related documents to include: zoning approvals, zoning relief, property searches and ordinances
Researching code sections and drafting project findings, proposals, and plans
Coordinating with state and local lobbying arms to facilitate registration and compliance reporting
Partner with local municipalities, handling correspondence and inquiries re filings and applications
Drafting letters of intent, agreements of sale, term sheets, leases, deeds and easements
MUST HAVE: experience requesting public records from state and local municipalities and public agencies. MUST HAVE: permitting and zoning experienceExperience with Virginia real estate and zoning matters a plus - this is a Virginia practiceQualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with a real estate practice group or government entity
Proficient in preparing and managing legal documents and transactions
Proficiency with LexisNexis, Westlaw and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Bachelor's degree in a related field or Paralegal Certification preferred - experience with Relativity preferred
