The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in achieving pipeline growth, sales targets, and overall business development efficiency. Responsibilities will span individual sales contributions, pipeline development and qualifications, in addition to cross-organizational collaboration with other business development managers and subject matter experts.Key Functions:
Conduct market research and identify opportunities to expand our pipeline focused on training and technical assistance, program evaluation, and program operations for federal clients
Cultivate customer relationships within the federal government space, including entities such as, HUD, DOJ, HHS ACF, DOL, and other social programs/human services agencies.
Develop and implement both short-term and long-term business strategies to drive revenue growth.
Foster sustained client relationships aligned with market expansion goals.
Establish internal relationships to facilitate growth initiatives.
Collaborate with other enterprise business development leaders to execute growth strategies effectively.
Cultivate strategic partnerships with industry leaders, driving innovation and creating new business opportunities.
Attending industry-specific events and networking opportunities to build partner relationships, identify leads, and gather market intelligence.
Collaborating with core service offering leads to creating marketing collateral, pitch materials, and capability briefings for key accounts and specific clients.
Manage business development activities, including partnership networking with special emphasis on small businesses, pipeline tracking, and capability development.
Structure and respond to requests for information.
Support/mentor Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on business development initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of 5 years of business development related experience in the Federal government market managing a pipeline of opportunities exceeding $100M total.
5 years of experience shaping requirements and building acquisition strategies for opportunities valued above $15M resulting in at least $50M in demonstrated sales.
Demonstrated ability to cross-sell capabilities and solutions into adjacent markets.
Proficiency in MS Office Applications and CRM tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Microsoft Dynamics).
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Business development skills, enabling seamless collaboration across diverse organizations.
Skills in client call planning, account development, and strategy shaping within a collaborative market team environment.
Proficiency with sourcing tools such as GovWin, Bloomberg, and Fed Scoop, with an ability to quickly adapt to other toolsets.
Expertise in identifying program growth opportunities and proactively proposing enhancements.
Strong networking skills and proven experience working with SMEs.
Demonstrated ability to lead business intelligence efforts, analyze market trends, and manage consortium/teaming projects simultaneously.
Track record of effectively presenting complex ideas to executive audiences, articulating customer positions, status, and strategies with clarity and decisiveness.
