Job Title: Senior Privacy CounselLocation: Remote About This Role: The Senior Privacy Counsel works closely with the General Counsel, Commercial and privacy team to oversee and evolve company's privacy strategy, including providing guidance for technology development initiatives, and development of awareness of company privacy positioning among thought leaders, industry groups, and consumers. MUST BE able understand the industry of data collection from consumers and have some technical aptitude. MUST HAVE experience with data mapping/data flows. What You'll Do:- Develop and evolve policies, tools, resources and frameworks enabling innovative uses of data throughout the company while ensuring privacy compliance and consistency with Comscore's privacy vision and principles
- Develop strategic plans to ensure that long-term goals, vision, objectives, and overall direction of the privacy function support corporate long-term goals and objectives and determining resource requirements (i.e.; staffing, funding, technology requirements) based on business objectives or operational needs
- Provide guidance to product and engineering teams on issues related to new and existing products and features throughout the entire product development lifecycle
- Work with the Internal Audit department on evaluating and improving internal controls relating to data privacy
- Assist the General Counsel, Commercial with all company implementation of all privacy related litigation and settlement compliance obligations
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitor advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance
- Conduct periodic privacy impact assessments and ongoing compliance monitoring activities in coordination with the organization's other compliance and operational assessment functions
- Minimum of 7+ years' experience as a practicing attorney, with at least 3+ years emphasis on privacy, preferably in-house at a technology company
- Demonstrated experience working in the technology industry; knowledge of product development and technology initiatives, including with respect to websites, apps, and/or other technology
- Deep knowledge of U.S. privacy laws and familiarity with the GDPR
