Management Associate Program (MA) :

Gerdau proudly offers a Leadership Development Program referenced as a Management Associate (MA), a flagship position known to empower people to recognize opportunity for improvement, and drive important projects forward to promote an increase in production, safety, quality, and collaboration.

We look to have real, feasible goals accomplished, and results achieved. The intensive 18-month development path utilizes on-the-job learning, classroom training, coaching and ongoing mentorship by senior management to turn MAP graduates into our future managerial and technical leaders.

Working at Gerdau is an opportunity to be part of a team that is a benchmark in the industry in which it operates. The MA Program also includes a Mentoring Program, a unique feature designed to help you build a successful career.

Your Mentor will be a Gerdau professional with experience and impact in the organization, who will facilitate your integration with Gerdau, help you understand Gerdau’s values and business culture and streamline your training by providing you technical knowledge and business vision.

What you will do :

As an MA you will be responsible for learning and implementing routine actions in the mill as well as provide engineering solutions for large- and small-scale problems.

Examples include : Creating Mechanical components / assembly drawing(s), proposing business methods to optimize product output and redirect process prioritization to improve current production standards.

Gain a holistic view and acumen of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America, as well as travel to various destinations throughout the US and Canada.

Further your development by interacting with other MAs from across North America while tackling some of the organization’s biggest challenges.

Grow a set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.

Work with software such as AutoCad, AutoCad Inventor, SAP, and excel.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

2020 / 2021 College graduate - recently completed or be in the process of completing degree before program starts

Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or higher)

Preference for a degree related internship experience

A maximum of 3 years full time work experience

Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities

A high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment

Willing to relocate to various locations within the United States during the length of the program
