Hiring For Material HandlersJob Description:

Candidates will start by training for a month doing general clean-up, learning color codes for steel, placement in warehouse and training on the crane based on previous crane experience

Candidates must be able to walk for 8-10 hour shifts (roughly 8 miles a day) in an inside/outside role.

Candidates must be okay with exposure to the elements, running indoor and outdoor cranes, and performing all functions to include housekeeping that comes with the role as they could be placed on one particular crane that stores materials outside.

Will eventually learn to not just pull beams but eventually load flat bed trailers and railcars which includes rigging, getting up onto the backs of flatbeds with ease, receiving inventory, moving materials to the loaders via overhead crane etc., filling out shipping reports and bills of lading and documenting all outgoing loads

Will be working around flatbed trucks and railcar systems, and must adhere to all safety rules (not walking in between stacks and always being visible to other associates)

Candidate May train to be a saw or brake operator, forklift operator is considered a promotional opportunity, steel bending machine or beam saw/cutters.

Candidates must be able to learn and retain information solely based on color as their inventory system and coding system are painted beam ends. They must be able to see color clearly and memorize locations and color system.

Minimum Requirements :

Heavy industrial experience or construction experience is required.

Candidates must be able to read a tape measure-and must be verified with test or reference.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, (although most is reaching, stooping, squatting etc as most product must be lifted by crane.) Must be able to operate equipment effectively and safely and have worked around heavy equipment in construction or similar work to steel.

Ideally Candidates should have Overhead crane experience in a heavy industry (or military) OR come from construction or related field. Candidates from a traditional warehouse like food lion or Amazon will not be a fit.

Training will be TBD based on the start date. They must be flexible for training on day shift for a few weeks prior to moving to their off shift, and they will only be moved once they are proficient and safe and able to operate 100% independently

Candidate will train on day shift and move to 2nd or third shift as they have openings on both second and third shift
