Summary About the Position: This position is located in the Contingency Operations Division (DAMO-ODO) within Operations, Readiness and Mobilization Directorate, Army Operations Center, and Office of the Deputy Chief, G-3/5/7. The Contingency Operations Division (DAMO-ODO) manages Army input into all Global Force Management (GFM) activities, the Army's Individual Augmentation life cycle, Mobilization of Units, and DAMO-OD's tasking authority. Responsibilities Serve as the Division's primary point of contact and subject matter expert for Army operations, contingency planning, and global force management. Serve as an advisor to Division, Directorate, and the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 with responsibility over multiple programs with program office-wide or Department-wide impacts. Plan overall work operations, sets priorities, establishes objectives, and makes decisions on issues by subordinate managers and supervisors. Control and review incoming actions and tasking which originate from a variety of sources to include various levels of the DA leadership, OSD, Congress, and other Federal agencies outside DOD. Analyze management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology. Consolidate data as necessary and reviews to ensure accomplishment of objectives, timeliness, and acceptability. Participate in the development of correspondence, management plans, instructions, and directives necessary to ensure effective communication among all activities participating in global force management. Interact with subordinate echelons and other staff sections to ensure assigned actions are understood, tracked, and completed within the assigned suspense. GS-15 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Provide technical advice to senior leaders on Global Force Management Activities; execute policy, plans, and programs related to Operations and Contingency Programs; manage a team to include planning work operations and setting priorities; and oversee the overall planning, direction, and execution of operations and contingency plans across an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making External Awareness Managing Human Resources Organizational Performance Analysis Planning and Evaluating GS-15 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
