Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Marine Service Department Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations within our service department, providing excellent customer service, and supporting our team in delivering top-notch service for boat repairs and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Answer phone calls and respond to emails promptly, addressing customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Intake and Data Entry: Register new customers and input boat information into the system accurately.
- Parts Management: Order parts, maintain inventory levels, and ensure mechanics have the necessary parts for each open work order.
- Workflow Tracking: Monitor the status and location of boats within the service process to provide accurate updates to customers and staff.
- Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors to source parts and ensure timely delivery.
- Cashier Duties: Process customer payments and handle cash-out procedures.
- Office Maintenance: Perform light cleaning tasks, including sweeping, taking out the trash, and dusting the office area.
- Opening and Closing: Execute daily opening and closing duties to ensure the service department operates smoothly.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, email correspondence, and inventory management.
- Experience in customer service or office administration is a plus.
- Knowledge of boats or marine industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks (e.g., cleaning, lifting small parts).

- Full-time position with occasional weekend or evening hours as needed.
