As a Marine Service Advisor, your responsibilities include inspecting a vessel to make suggestions to the owners or operators about necessary repairs and safety upgrades and work with technicians to facilitate these improvements.
You will also offer advice about efficiency upgrades and other possible changes that the owners of the craft can make.
Preventative maintenance is key, a Marine Service Advisor must believe in this concept and apply it to all vessels to ensure customers fix, repair and maintain their vessels to avoid breakdowns.
In this career, you may need to be familiar with standards and regulations for the commercial shipping or commercial fishing industry.
Job Duties
Providing customers with product information and availability, estimated time of arrival of goods and product recommendations
Ensure customer expectations and timeliness of repairs are met by managing parts orders, inventory and technician productivity
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Manage daily paperwork from vendors
Shop parts and prices to provide best service to customers
Handly quality checks on customer vessels
Resolve customer complaints and address concerns
Maintain positive relationships with vendors and staff to provide a good and productive work environment.
Delivering prompt, professional solutions for customer inquires
