Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Install mechanic/helper to join our team. As an HVAC Install mechanic/helper, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential and commercial properties. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and opportunities for career advancement.
Essential Functions:
-Installs commercial heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems including power wiring from load side of disconnect, control wiring, gas and condensate piping, duct and insulation
-Sketches transitions and other duct fittings required to complete assigned work
-Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom and vendors
-Performs pipefitting and minor fabrication(a plus but not necessary)
-Establishes plan to complete jobs on time and to meet/beat budget estimates
-Coordinates activities of assigned helpers
-Interprets specifications, blueprints, drawings, and job orders
-Competent in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment
-Installs systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings or work-sites
-Works within precise limits and standards of accuracy;
Responsibility for high degree of attention required to prevent damage or waste
-Works closely with external and/or internal contacts to carry out responsibilities
-Maintains and cares for all Company assets including but not limited to tools, trucks, equipment, etc.
-Completes all necessary forms and paperwork as directed
-Performs other duties as assigned
Required:
-5 years of progressive HVAC operational experience in building systems, products and services (HVAC industry)-
-Excellent initiative, interpersonal communications skills, and sense of urgency
Specialized knowledge to analyze and solve complex problems
-Must possess or obtain personal hand tools
-Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
-Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
-Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:
Work Environment:
May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold and dampness
May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights
Physical Demands:
This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
Preferred:
Journeyman card or Masters license
Experience in a Commercial/Industrial work environment
Universal CFC certification
