JB Design and Remodeling is a premium construction company serving the Hampton Roads and Eastern Shore areas of Virginia. The company has existed for over 25 years, boasts nearly a century of cumulative experience between its corporate staff, contractors and consultants and is in a substantial growth phase.

The Project Manager is the most essential part to the production department within JB Design and Remodeling. It is the Project Manager’s job to keep on top of the various construction projects and verify that it is running smoothly and according to schedule and budget. Most importantly, it is their job to ensure a world-class customer service experience for our clients

Reports to: Owners

Responsibilities

· Follow, maintain, and update production schedules and progress as coordinated with a superintendent and aid when needed.

· Authorize payments to subcontractors for completed work.

· Maintain regular communication with homeowners to keep updated on project progress by sending weekly schedules and making daily calls / voicemails

· Utilize and maintain an active schedule of each of their projects and coordinate with the team for: meetings with trades, product deliveries, work being done and milestones within the project and actively communicate them with the client.

· Must efficiently and accurately utilize Sub-Contractor agreements with Trades for work being done and verify with Superintendent fulfillment of agreements made with trades.

· Determining if work being presented is not within the scope of project or budget of the initial contract signed and if it is not, work with administration to create a change order to be presented to the Customer for approval and payment.

· Lead pre construction meetings between the sales team and the production team.

· Audit budgets, scopes of work, contracts, and deadlines to ensure feasibility of the project.

Qualifications

· Degree in Engineering, Construction Project Management, or similar field; Master’s degree is a plus.

· PM Certification not required but would be a plus.

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in semi- or custom residential Project Management.

· Basic knowledge of software programs, such as MS Office and Windows Operating Systems.

· Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients as necessary.

· Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

· Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the jobsite.

· Keen eye to identify potential delays with material, jobsite, and schedule related delays and be able to work around them.

· Familiarity with the operation of office equipment, such as digital cameras, fax machines, computers, copiers, and telephones

· Experience with managing demanding clients and offering creative solutions to meet commitments and requests

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
