Direct Support Professional Team Leader (Nurse’s Aide)
Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse’s Aide to join our DD Supportive In-Home care Team. As a Team Leader you will assist the DSP Supervisor to implement care plan and ensure high quality care is provided to DD individuals in their home setting. You will play a crucial role in providing leadership to DSPs specializing in care to the developmentally disabled population. You will assist with coordinating, training, monitoring the team and providing overall care practices to DD individuals as well as assist with DSP Staff.
Your responsibilities will include delivering direct care, ensuring comfort and safety, and supporting the overall well-being of the individuals. Idea candidates may have experience in working with the in home health care industry and/or with the Developmentally Disabled population.
Duties:
Assist DSP Supervisor
Team Leadership
Assist with Training
Individual Records Documentation
Medication Aide assistance
Client care
Also, assist individuals with personal daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
Help transport individuals to different areas such as doctor appointments and activity outings, community events as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient room and common area.
Communicate effectively with DSP Supervisor regarding individual's conditions and any changes observed.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to duties and be able to train DSP staff. Provide quality care and safety protocols.
Requirements:
Driver's License/Transportation or Bus Transit ability
Medication Aide Certification
Nurse Aide class completion
CPR First Aide
DSP training (will train)
TB test
High school diploma or equivalent
Background Check/ Illegal Substance check
Experience in a group home setting is desired; medical settings, hospital settings such as clinics or trauma centers is acceptable. Knowledge of emergency medicine practices is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively within a home healthcare team while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions accurately.
Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing quality care to individuals with disabilities.
Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with individual care, including lifting and moving individuals safely.
