Travel Maintenance and Install Technician

Job Summary: This position is a combined role and will be based from one of our Veolia Service Centers. When working from base the position will be an integral part of the facility maintenance team or potentially fabrication shop (depending on location). Due to the growth of the Services business, this position will be called upon to travel to other Veolia Service Centres mainly based in their region (South/West/Central or East/North/Central NAM). Purpose of the travel will be for facility expansion or upgrade projects and sometimes at customer sites. During the periods away from base the main function of this position will be on-site execution of Veolia facility CAPEX projects. Core function of the role will be mechanical installation, repair or upgrade activities. This role will perform duties to the highest standard with regard to professional attitude toward work and safety.  When working from the base Service Center the role will ensure installation of equipment, machinery, general repairs  are carried out efficiently and properly.Key Characteristics ● Travel to remote facilities to support on-site installation and maintenance of CAPEX projects. ● Strict adherence to all EHS standards in accordance with both Veolia and site guidelines● Ability to read and implement engineering drawings and P&ID’s, Works according to project engineering standardDuties & Responsibilities Travel to Veolia facilities or customer sites for on-site installation of CAPEX projects. Up to 50% travelWorks to best EHS standards, policies or proceduresWorks in according to the install lead directions & maintains clear communication to ensure smooth and efficient operationsIs available on-call for emergency needs to maintain project install scheduleWorks according to the facility maintenance leader directions Demonstrates excellent EHS standards and follows policies/procedures in order to keep self and others injury free  Install new equipment or re-arranges existing equipment.Performs preventative maintenance activities at the facility or within the ‘Mobile’ fleet Reliable and thorough approach to work.Perform building and ground maintenanceFollow good housekeeping practices by keeping maintenance and tool storage area neat and clean as well as timely cleanup of work area after each job is completed.Perform confined space entry in small tanks with 14x18" manwaysMaintain records and reports as directed by immediate supervisorKnowledge, Skills & Abilities (List out required and preferred skills as applicable)Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterityAbility and willingness to work confined space entryAbility and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilitiesAbility and willingness to read documents and implement such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility and willingness for on call status for emergency responseAbility and willingness to travel for install and repair if neededAbility and willingness to travel where needed. Preferred:At least 1 year of repair and maintenance work experience.Experience running Schedule 80 PVC pipe (2” to 8”). Trade school experience for plumbing, carpentry, and/or mechanical repair is highly desiredPositive displacements pump repair experience.
