Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in the Real Estate & Property industry in Norfolk, Virginia, United States. In this role, you will primarily be tasked with assisting a local property management team with cash management and related accounting duties. Responsibilities: Enter invoices with high accuracy Extract support from accounting systems for further analysis Handle special projects as assigned within the accounting function Maintain documentation in an organized manner Perform data entry related to accounting tasks Conduct small-scale account reconciliations Tie out financials to supporting documentation Utilize Microsoft Excel in performing various accounting functions Process checks and manage daily cash flow Reconcile cash transactions and accounts regularly. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Specialist role or similar position within the Real Estate & Property industry. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas and functions. Demonstrated experience in performing various accounting functions, such as accounts payable and receivable. Experience with check processing, including generating, distributing, and recording payments. Skilled in account reconciliation, including identifying discrepancies and resolving issues. Proven ability to manage daily cash, ensuring accurate recording and proper allocation of funds. Proficient in cash reconciliations, including balancing cash accounts and resolving any discrepancies. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with various departments and external parties. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Professional accounting certification, such as CPA or CMA, is a plus.
