Job Description:
As Lead Estimator, your job would be to: manage a small estimating staff, produce COMMERCIAL drywall estimates, oversee all estimating department work products, ensure compliance with procedures and policies, increase the company’s profile, seek new business and maintain relationships with the company’s customers and vendors.
Skills and Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in construction, architecture, engineering or a related field OR a combination of experience and education that will allow you to be successful at the job
8+ years of experience in commercial and/or residential related field work
Virginia contractor’s license
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid grasp of construction methods, building compliance and safety regulations
Strong computer skills and comfortable with technology
Leadership skills, including task delegation and staff management
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures, including making financial projections and creating project budgets
Decision-making, analytical and negotiation skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Strong conflict resolution skills
In addition to the above skills and qualifications the following are a BIG PLUSS:
OSHA certifications
Experience with any of the following: PlanSwift, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Sage Estimating, and The Edge Estimator software packages
Familiarity and relationships with regional builders
Solid knowledge of the residential construction field, specifically paint and drywall
