Job Title: Assistant SuperintendentJob DescriptionWe are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team at Newport News Shipyard. This role will be part of multiple projects, starting with a complete build for a ship garage. The ideal candidate will have excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills, along with 2+ years of experience as an assistant superintendent with a general contractor.Responsibilities
Oversee and help manage other staff members on the project.
Help manage and coordinate all trade partners and subcontractors.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Read and understand technical specifications and architectural drawings.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, and various scheduling software to manage project timelines and deliverables.
Actively participate in a team environment to achieve project goals.
Essential Skills
2+ years as an assistant superintendent for a general contractor.
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and BlueBeam.
Experience with Building Information Modeling.
Ability to read and understand technical specifications and architectural drawings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 30 training required.
Federal experience is a nice to have but not required.
Experience managing projects in the $1M+ range.
Experience with scheduling software such as MS Project, Primavera, or Phoenix.
Work EnvironmentThis position is on-site, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Conditions may vary depending on the project requirements.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
