The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you will succeed in this role. Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks Requirements - Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Skilled with ERP systems
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Proficiency in billing
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Ledger Reconciliations experience
