The Tactical Air Dominance Department (N151) is transforming warfighter operations by accelerating the fielding of advanced families of weapon systems through digital acquisition, advanced simulation and emulation, resilient communications, and autonomy experimentation. We strongly value deep technical and operational expertise, a mission-oriented mindset, and a desire to firmly link the acquisition of advanced capabilities to operational warfighters, analysts, and end-users.Job Description:Our department is seeking a collaborative, risk-taking, and innovative Operational Analysis & Studies (OA&S) Group Leader. The selected candidate will be the direct supervisor (DS) for 8-10 assigned staff and responsible for providing technical support, conducting career growth and development conversations, leading staff advocacy and recognition activities, and maintain periodic communication with Project/Task Leads on staff performance.The selected candidate will coach and mentor a diverse technical and operational team of digital engineering modelers, scenario developers, and mission thread and effects chain analysts. The selected candidate will serve as the main point of contact for new employee onboarding and as a resource to guide staff in navigating the MITRE organization and processes. The selected candidate will enable their staff to apply impactful thought leadership to model current and future DoD weapon systems and operational concepts; simulate codified joint mission threads and multi-domain effects chains; and conduct detailed analysis for DoD emerging concepts and acquisition efforts.The selected candidate will also be the Department champion for operational analysis, and work across the Air & Space Forces Center to cohere operational analysis assignments, techniques, and tooling. The selected candidate will be expected to collaborate with senior MITRE and government leaders, department and division leadership teams, and MITRE innovation centers to shape, plan, and apply operational analysis to our sponsor’s most challenging objectives.Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field with 10+ years Modeling & Simulation, Operational Analysis/Research, or Applied Mathematics experience and 5+ years of Technical Leadership experience.

A current DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance

Deep technical knowledge in two or more key domain areas such as: Operational Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Mission Engineering, and/or Test and Evaluation

Hands-on experience scoping, planning, managing, leading, and executing complex modeling and simulation, operational analysis, and/or operational research efforts impacting strategic outcomes.

Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across challenging and diverse stakeholders to propose, shape, and lead high-visibility and high-impact work.

Experience coaching, mentoring, and advocating for all levels of staff

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Track record of formulating group level and department-level goals, and the persistence to execute until those goals are achieved.

This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI clearance

Master’s degree in a STEM related field with 12+ years of experience

Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching staff to work collaboratively across challenging/diverse sponsors/stakeholders to propose, shape, and lead impactful FFRDC work which aligns to MITRE’s brand and organizational strategic vectors

Leadership roles interfacing with and responsible for engagements with Senior Air Force General Officer (GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) sponsors.

Demonstrated experience shaping, leading, managing, planning, and contributing to high-value and high-impact operational analysis efforts at the Enterprise-level
