Shibuya Hoppmann has an immediate opening for an experienced Electrical Technician to assist in manufacturing parts sorting systems and rotary assembly systems. This position is Monday to Friday, day shift, in our Madison Heights VA production facility.

Responsibilities include:
Assembling mechanical components and electrical devices (including basic low voltage wiring) from drawings
Working closely with engineering and supervisors to ensure proper assembly of product
Assisting in cleaning and preparing equipment scheduled for shipment to customers
Maintaining clean and safe work area
Requirements:
Must be able to read electrical schematics, control panel and mechanical layouts and follow applicable standards- UL508A, NFPA79, NEC, etc.
Must understand AC/DC concepts
Must have experience in electrical panel assembly, electrical conduit and pulling wire per NFPA70
Must be detail oriented and reliable
Must be able to execute a finished piece with minimal supervision
Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted, and have full range of motion to reach, climb, stoop, kneel and step over equipment easily.
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in machine wiring and control panel assembly
Journeyman license or equivalent preferred
AB components and PLC’s experience would be advantageous.
Starting rate: $22 - $28 /hour, depending on experience
