We will train you to provide in-home care for an alert, elderly female Parkinson’s Disease patient in a quiet, friendly family home environment located in a private gated community off Old Graves Mill Road near Timberlake Kroger’s in Lynchburg, Virginia.
The successful candidate must live in the Lynchburg Metro Area (Forest, Concord, Madison Heights, Rustburg) or no further away than, Altavista, Appomattox, Amherst, or Bedford insuring that you can be depended upon to continuously meet your assigned work schedule.
Your work schedule will be from 3 pm to 7 pm every Saturday and Sunday, a total of 8 hours per week paid weekly. Plus you will also serve as a vacation and absence relief person for full-time caregivers, occasionally on short notice with a pay premium. Pay Rate is $20 per hour. Outstanding performance could eventually lead to a full-time 40-hour-per week work schedule. This is a permanent, long-term caregiver position on the payroll of an established Family Trust business.
STRICT ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR THIS JOB TO INSURE THAT THE PATIENT IS NEVER LEFT UNATTENDED DURING YOUR ASSIGNED HOURS. THIS JOB CANNOT BE INCUMBERED BY ANY OTHER EMPLOYMENT OR PERSONAL ISSUES. IF YOU ARE NOT TOTALLY FLEXABLE AND CANNOT GIVE THIS JOB TOP PRIORITY, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY.
The successful female candidate must be a non-smoker, speak fluent English, be healthy and physically fit possessing the strength to lift and move a 120-pound elderly female patient safely from the floor and between her transport chair, lift chair and her bed. Standing “on your feet” is required most of your shift.
A positive attitude and compassionate desire to work with the sick and elderly is a must.
The successful candidate must also pass a background check and have a clean, valid, Virginia driver’s License and be able to drive the patient in the patient’s disability van to doctor’s appointments.
