AECOM is seeking a Water Resources Market Sector Leader for our Herndon, VA and or Arlington, VA offices. The ideal candidate will have experience with municipal, state, and federal facility stormwater programs, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permits, stormwater design and monitoring, TMDL planning, water quality and watershed modeling projects. In this role, the successful candidate will provide senior technical oversight for a variety of water resources and stormwater engineering projects related to federal, state, and municipal clients. A significant amount of experience leading and managing projects of highly technical nature will be essential to serve effectively in this role.The candidate will work collaboratively with the business unit operations leadership, sales leaders, other members of senior staff and project managers within the EBL as well as with other business lines. In this leadership role, the candidate is expected to participate in operational leadership calls and implement proper health and safety, quality management, and other AECOM standard practices and new initiatives. Candidate will actively participate in recruiting new staff and promote AECOMs collaborative and team building office culture with initiatives such as Great Place to Work, Freedom to Grow etc.Key Responsibilities:Maintain existing client relationships and contracts by successful project delivery.Develop new clients and grow water resources practice statewide and nationwide.Serve as a project manager and a Program Manager for water resource projects.Attend client meetings and coordinate with regulatory agencies.Coordinate with AECOM project team members (and subcontractors when used); Provide technical leadership in the areas of environmental and stormwater management research, field work, stormwater analysis, stormwater monitoring, water quality and watershed modeling.Technical oversight and reviews of stormwater design and construction documents, inspection checklists, reports, assessments, public education/outreach materials, etc.Participate in local and regional water resources organizations, as appropriate on behalf of AECOM.Lead and implement AECOM office cultural practices for team building and recruit new talent to build AECOMs team.Some local travel will be required (Virginia, Maryland, and DC) Occasional travel outside of local area may be required.
