Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant based in Herndon, Virginia, United States. The role involves preparing and reviewing various financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, and providing financial support for group budgets. You will also be tasked with monitoring outstanding receivables, supporting the annual audit process, and preparing robust financial statements for internal and external reporting requirements.Responsibilities: Prepare and review purchase requisitions, Accounts Payable (AP) invoices, and journal entries, including prepaid, accrual, and revenue journal entries. Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger monthly and prepare related journal entries. Perform detailed account reconciliations monthly and quarterly, including fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, and capital contribution accounts. Prepare and review foreign exchange transactions. Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables to maximize cash flow. Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and footnotes and ensuring quality control on audit deliverables. Collaborate with cross-functional business partners and suppliers to resolve discrepancies. Identify and propose enhancements and improvements to financial applications, including accounting for capital expenditures and fixed assets. Prepare well-supported accounting records to ensure a timely month-end close and successful audits. Produce robust consolidating and consolidated financial statements for internal and external reporting requirements. Perform special projects as requested. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Proficient in General Ledger management Able to prepare Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and Costpoint Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Excellent communication and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.If interested in this Staff Accountant role, reach out to Mahil Santram via LinkedIn.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
