CMI has been in business for over 30 years and is well established in the federal contracting arena. www.cmimgmt.com to learn more about our company!Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Maintenance Engineer repairs machinery or mechanical equipment at CMI’s customer site in Herndon, VA and/or Arlington, VA.Key Job Functions

Examines machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose sources of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling equipment and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools

Performs general maintenance on buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC equipment, replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets, painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Repair or replace parts as needed to maintain buildings, equipment, and furnishings in all aspects of facility maintenance. This includes being able to work with various types of materials: woods, plastics, paints, glass, sheet metals, PVC products, greases, oils, etc.

Determine required materials and supplies relating to preventive maintenance, repair orders, and projects to complete each task.

Perform routine preventative maintenance on building equipment/furnishings in accordance with the manufacturer’s operation manuals.

Qualifications

High School Degree or Equivalent

At least 3 years of experience performing maintenance services within a federal facility

Must be proficient in the trades with experience working or equivalent training in general maintenance services

Must follow workplace policies and procedures
