Maxar is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA or Colorado Springs, CO on a project vital to national security. The ideal candidate is creative and driven, passionate about technology, and able to learn quickly.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

  • Lead software integration , data management, user workflow, security accreditation s and management and service call architecture for our software suite.
  • Create rapid prototypes to design and implement complex, cutting-edge systems.
  • Collect, parse, manage, analyze, and visualize large datasets to extract meaningful knowledge.
  • Setup/Install/maintain/optimize container platforms .
  • Create automated deployment and configuration scripts to automate deployment of tools and platforms.
  • Setup/Code/maintain build and deployment scripts in.
  • Provide exceptional customer support for our clients.

Minimum requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen with a current/active TS/SCI and willing to obtain a CI polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 5 + years experience as a DevOps engineer /Software Engineer.
  • Proficiency in the software build and maintenance process and associated tools.
  • Proficiency working in a Linux environment and experience with one or more of the following: Java, Python, JavaScript , Bash/shell, or scripting language.
  • Passion for automation of software builds, testing, and deployments in support of increased code quality and decreased time to market.
  • Willing to work onsite at Government customer sites.
  • Configuration management tool experience (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Agile development process.

Preferred skills:
  • Understanding of the TCPED cycle.
  • Knowledge of big data toolsets - Hadoop, Yarn, Spark, Accumulo , etc .
  • NoSQL databases ( ElasticSearch , MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
  • SQL databases (Postgres).
  • Scala language experience.
  • Web application front-end experience ( JavaScript , Angular, React).
  • Web application server experience (servlets, containers).
  • Integration of various datasets from various networks ( nifi ).
  • Familiarity with accredited systems and maintaining ICD 503 compliance.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or CISSP certification or the ability to acquire and maintain certification.
  • Experience with the SAFE Agile process and Atlassian tool suite.
  • Scrum Master certifications.
