Job Title: Switchgear AssemblerJob DescriptionCandidates will be responsible for assembling tap off boxes, switchgear units, remote power panels, and mechanical power distribution units. The openings are in both the mechanical and electrical areas, with the largest need currently in the mechanical area. Candidates will be assembling small units which are fairly easy and require strong mechanical skills. Proficiency with using hand and power tools and being mechanically inclined is essential.Responsibilities
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Assemble data bar units, comprised of metal parts, including fastening, drilling, attaching, and building complete units.
Perform control wiring throughout individual units if working in the electrical area.
Complete general labor duties as assigned including stocking, inventory, or unwrapping raw materials.
Use hand and power tools to perform assembly tasks.
Read drawings to understand what part or replacement part is needed to assemble the finished products.
Work at a production pace to meet daily unit completion goals.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of assembly or similar experience using hand/power tools to put things together or take them apart.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Experience with control panel, PDU, RPP, DP Box, wiring, sheet metal, diagrams, blueprints, and power tools.
Proficiency with tape measure reading and ideally blueprint or schematic reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1 year of wiring experience either as a hobby, school, or professional work.
Good attitude, performance, and attendance.
Proven track record of success with stable job histories.
Work EnvironmentIt includes departments for fabrication, welding, machine operating, painting, etc. The facility has high ceilings and is very clean.
