Description We are in search of an Accounting Clerk to join our team located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be tasked with managing both accounts payable and receivable, assisting with ledger reconciliations, and handling general office duties. Your role will be vital in ensuring timely payments and collections, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing overall support to our accounting department.Responsibilities Manage and oversee the accounts payable functions, ensuring the prompt and accurate payment of bills. Assist with the accounts receivable functions, focusing on efficient and timely collection of receivables. Perform regular ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy in the accounting records. Utilize Microsoft Excel to compile, analyze, and present financial data. Work with SAP for efficient data entry and invoice processing. Provide general office support as necessary, contributing to the smooth operation of the department. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action to address any issues. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate customer credit records to ensure the integrity of financial information. Requirements Proficiency in account reconciliation Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) Familiarity with billing procedures Ability to perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently Experience with invoice processing Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Familiarity with SAP software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills Ability to handle confidential information responsibly Knowledge of standard accounting principles and regulations Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
