Description We are inviting applications for the role of Senior Accountant for a growing company based in Glen Allen, Virginia. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity to assist the company with high level Senior Accountant responsibilities as they continue to grow and acquire organizations. The selected candidate will manage complex spreadsheet-based processes and contribute to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger. They will also collaborate with various teams and manage the account reconciliation process. Candidates should have large company Senior Accountant experience or prior experience at an Accounting Manager level to understand the complexity of the accounts. This Senior Accountant will work a hybrid work schedule out of Glen Allen, Virginia. Responsibilities: Manage complex spreadsheet-based activities for journal entries, including maintaining amortization schedules and reclassifying between prepaid and accrued accounts. Oversee the account reconciliation process by analyzing balance sheet account balances and providing clear support for activity. Collaborate with the Finance team to identify variances and either provide explanations or post correcting entries. Work closely with franchise locations with cost accounting for each site Identify and lead process improvements, and maintain effective internal control processes and procedures. Perform other essential tasks as directed by the supervisor. Take part in forecasting and budgeting processes. Manage the month end close process for multiple business entities Operate in a time-sensitive environment with limited supervision.Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or above Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Budgeting and Forecasting Demonstrated experience in preparing Journal Entries Strong understanding of Amortization and Accrual Accounting practices Experience with handling Prepaid Accounts and Prepaid Expenses Expertise with job costing and cost accounting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Expertise in QuickBooks High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team CPA certification would be advantageous.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
