Positions are located at our Innsbrook office in Glen Allen, VA. Relocation assistance may be provided.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing facility ratings for Electric Transmission assets used by many Dominion Energy Electric Transmission departments and PJM. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Managing Facility Ratings for Electric Transmission assets and equipment

Responsible for acting as a stakeholder in the Business Process Analyst's tasks of developing/maintaining a Facility Ratings documentation publishing process and Facility Ratings Engineering training documentation

Facility Ratings modeling: Implement active and pending ratings in the Facility Ratings Database

Participate in the Electric Transmission project process to manage new and existing equipment ratings across the system

Identify newly added projects that require facility ratings adjustment

Track upcoming projects that require facility ratings adjustments and review project one-line diagrams and facility rating notifications

Responsible for maintaining new and existing conductor ratings, equipment types, substations and lines, and facility ratings methodologies, job aids, and other documents/tools

Responsible for supporting Electric Transmission in engineering aspects of facility ratings, acting as the facility ratings interface to many ET departments. Serve as default point of contact for facility ratings items from other business units, e.g. fielding questions from SOC, receiving loading limit documents from SPE, etc.

Stay engaged in NERC FAC-008 standard activities and standard updates, including creating and managing documentation for FAC-008 compliance

Participate in the design, development, and testing of the new Facility Ratings Database 2.0 application

Work collaboratively with many Dominion Energy Electric Transmission departments, PJM, and SERC to manage and update facility ratings in planning models and real-time operational models

Assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of computer-based tools for the Electric Transmission Facility Ratings Engineering team

Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Candidate should have strong electrical engineering background, preferably in electric power systems such as engineering experience working in the Electric Utility Industry in Transmission System Operations, Substation Engineering, System Protection or Transmission Planning. Other engineering backgrounds may be considered if presented in combination with a strong electric power background.

Candidate should possess strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices that will enable the successful candidate to progress in an engineering career series.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Engineer/Engineering Technical Specialist II - 3+ years of relevant engineering or technical experience Engineer Ill/Engineering Technical Specialist III - 5+ years of relevant engineering or technical experience Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives Planning, organizational and project management skills Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills Effective decision making skills Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing) Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices Equally effective working independently or in a team environment Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles Proficient at analyzing all aspects of three-phase AC power flow Knowledge of substation equipment and operations preferredEducation RequirementsMinimum Education Required for Engineer title: Bachelor's degree in Engineering.For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:

Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or

Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

For placement of a candidate in the Engineering Technical Specialist job series, the following criteria must be met:

4-year Engineering Technology degree or 4-year degree in Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or

4-year degree in Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering or other technical related discipline; or

4-year non-technical degree and post-graduate degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering (not ABET-accredited); or

Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred degree
