Description A growing company in the Wholesale Distribution industry is looking to grow its team by hiring an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk through Robert Half. Taking on this role, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain a cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This rapidly growing team needs a self-starter to join the accounting team! You will process full-cycle AP and handle many invoices per week while paying close attention to detail. This permanent opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk is in the Glen Allen, Virginia area.Your responsibilities
Follow standard procedures to perform basic accounting tasks, such as general accounting
Answer questions from shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stake holders
Post and balance financial data in various ledgers to reconcile bank accounts
Work with clients to solve payment issues; set up payment plans as needed
Verify documents and codes
Carry out, convey, and strengthen the mission, values and culture of the company
Handle monthly closings and annual reports, including processing payments and compiling segments in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Relevant experience in accounts receivable
Knowledge of Invoice Payment
Oracle NetSuite Technologies experience desired
Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Incoming payments experience
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
Skilled with ERP systems
Proven analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
