Hi! I’m a local irrigation contractor that runs a couple trucks for service calls and we are in need of a new technician to join our team and grow with us. Must have good drivers license and experience in maintenance and installations of irrigation systems. We meet in the morning in Fredericksburg, get our schedules and each truck runs service calls doing start ups, adjustments, repairs, and whatever’s needed. Jobs are normally scheduled 9-5 but each job varies by repairs needed and some days are longer than others. We try to run 2 guys per truck to speed things up and have a lot of grouped up calls to cut back on travel time.
I’m looking for an experienced technician that can drive and do service calls by themselves, follow a schedule, communicate with clients, and do the necessary maintenance and/or repairs at each job. You must know how to adjust different types of heads and controllers. I’m willing to train but you need to have the basics down to start, setup, and troubleshoot systems because you will be on jobs alone or with a helper. Of course, I’m only a call away to help walk our guys through steps to solve problems they’re unsure of.
Pay is based on experience and performance and is negotiable for the right person but this position starts at $20/hr. We also give overtime pay, seasonal bonuses, paid holidays off, raises, and can work with flexible schedules as long as we know ahead of time. I’m a small home based business and I’m looking for another long term employee. I’m willing to work with the right person to meet both of our needs.
We’re also looking to hire a sprinkler helper with basic knowledge to help our techs.
And looking to hire someone with office/phone/filing experience to help a couple days a week in our office.
Pay starts at $15/hr for these positions but I’m certainly willing to negotiate with the right people.
A little about us: We started as a family business and have grown to having a few full and part time employees with 3 service trucks and an install crew. I consider myself one of the best in servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential irrigation systems. My wife is also one of the best service call schedulers that I’ve ever worked with. We both work extremely hard to maintain good client relationships and provide the best service. The issue we’re facing is that we never expected word of mouth to spread as much as it did and we've had to start turning down jobs and strictly focus on customer retention. We just can’t keep up with the demand. We really need team members that are not just in it for the hours but people that are willing to step up and take on responsibilities. We need help in the field getting jobs done and in the office to help take calls, scheduling, and to help make our system more automated and efficient.
