Accounting Specialist

Description We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The job function centers around the residential industry. You will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, including reconciling accounts, auditing transactions, and supporting operational accounting needs. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Undertake bank and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records Assist with invoicing and matching of financial transactions to maintain fiscal integrity Audit and reconcile a backlog of checks and receipts to match to appropriate transactions Use accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze transaction logs Provide operational accounting support as needed to ensure smooth financial operations Leverage your skills in QuickBooks and Accounts Receivable (AR) to optimize accounting functions Utilize your knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) to manage and process customer credit applications Exercise strong attention to detail to audit, research, and analyze transaction logs Use financial reconciliation skills to ensure the accuracy of all financial data Previous experience with ERP systems is a plus, but not a must-have. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge in Auditing practices Familiarity with Billing Functions Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial tasks Experience with Financial Reconciliation Knowledge in QuickBooks software for accounting tasks Strong communication and organizational skills Attention to detail and ability to multitask Ability to work independently and as part of a team Problem-solving and analytical skills Knowledge of current financial regulations and standardsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
