Maintenance Level III - GMDescription:Journeyman 3 Industrial General Mechanic - $40.83Pay Rate: $40.83 per hourPhysical Location :Franklin Fluff Mill34040 Union Camp DriveFranklin, Virginia 23851757-569-4321Shift:Day Shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm12 Hour Rotating Shift – 7:00am – 7:00pm or 7:00pm – 7:00amPosition Scope:This is a multi-craft mechanical journeyman-level position responsible to complete scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties both as part of a team and independently. Duties include, but are not restricted to millwright, pipefitter, welding, and preventative/predictive maintenancePosition Requirements:

Minimum high school diploma or have a GED equivalent

Must be 18 years or older

Must have three (3) years verifiable field experience as a journeyman

Knowledge and experience in millwright, pipefitting, machinist, and welding.

Willing and capable of working all shifts

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in a maintenance discipline on top of (3) years verifiable field experience as a journeyman

Relevant work experience in an industrial environment

Strong math/physics understanding

Position Responsibilities:

Obtain and complete daily work orders

Dismantle machines as needed

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools

Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks

Fit, assemble and install equipment

Install machine and equipment according to lay-out plan, blue prints and other drawings

Utilize hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools

Operate cranes, tow motors and fork lifts

Align machines and equipment using hoist, jacks, hand tools, dial indicators

Install machinery; new and existing equipment; planning sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and cutting pipe; threading and ending pipe by hand or with pipe bending machine

Joint piping; secure pipe to structure

May repair and lubricate machine and equipment

Refurbish/maintain valves, pumps, gear boxes, bearings, agitators, conveyors, turbines, paper machines, lime kiln

Knowledge of metric system

Ability to work in heights

Measure for bearing clearance and shaft diameters

Trouble shoot equipment reliability issues

Fabricate structural materials as needed

Perform welding as needed

Perform other duties as assigned

Mill Operations – You must be able to:

Personally exhibit safety as a core value and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety

Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment

Successfully complete a pre-employment background check.

Undergo an interview panel and hands on assessment

Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment

Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule

Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification

Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis

Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends

Wear required safety equipment and PPE

Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection).

Represent both company policy and direction

Develop knowledge of mill operations processes, equipment and systems

Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Work effectively alone or within a team

Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively

Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams

Basic computer skills

Make timely and effective decisions
