Responsibilities The Data Warehouse Analyst / Programmer is responsible for designing and development of Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes for data warehouses, gathering requirements, and designing data bases. Defines and oversees database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. Responsible for data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment. Advises applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems, data architectures, data base management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases. Provides technical expertise to create new data warehouses and performs testing and dimensional modeling to ensure database solutions are functioning properly and accurately. Advises on applications development, data architectures, data base management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of data bases. Reviews and ensures that data loaded into the data warehouse is accurate. Performs data warehouse design and construction. Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements. Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.

Specific Responsibilities include:
  • Design, build, and support the components of data warehouse, such as ETL processes, databases, reports, and reporting environments
  • Plans technical transitions between development, testing, and production phases of the workplace.
  • Performs data warehouse design and construction.
  • Codes and documents scripts and stored procedures.
  • Designs dimensional models with conformed dimensions, following the business processes.
  • Creates processes for maintaining or/and capturing metadata.
  • Identifies and documents all requirements for both fresh and current data warehouse components and reports by working with end users.
  • Develops programs and systems documentation and assists clients with data warehouse requirement
  • Provide database warehouse support to Information Operations for briefings, work groups, & events.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or other related field.
  • At least Eight years experience in conducting analysis and open source research supporting DoD or IC customer, Plus;
  • Demonstrated experience creating metadata, developing ETL processes
  • Demonstrated experience SAP Business Objects, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS), Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS computing platforms
  • Demonstrated experience developing codes, testing for quality assurance, administering RDBMS, and monitoring of database
  • Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of data warehouse, and experience supporting and developing data warehouses.
  • Possess excellent skill in communicating in writing and speaking with senior managers and team members
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • Demonstrated leadership supporting open source research and strong proficiency in IO Planning
    • Eight years experience in conducting analysis and open source research supporting DoD or IC customer with at least a portion of the experience within the last two years.
    • Ten or more years active duty military, civilian or contractor performance working in Information Operations.
