Gathers customer technical and functional application requirements, including software engineering and gap analyses.

Collaborates with division managers and system owners to ensure full understanding of system/application architecture and functional requirements.

Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.

Provides technical guidance to software engineering team and collaborates with Systems Engineering team in overcoming technical obstacles.

Plans for capacity management/demand management, migration planning and execution, and web application consolidation.

Develops service-oriented architecture designs as needed.

Education: BA/BS in Technical, Engineering or Management field. Master’s degree can be substituted as 4 years of experience.

Experience: Fifteen years of technical experience, of which includes at least five years of specialized experience as a software architcect in the technologies outlined below.

Technical skills: MCAD ( M icrosoft Certified Application Developer) or equivalent certification such as the Microsoft Certified Professional Developer / MCPD and / or Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS). Additionally, must have demonstrated significant experience in development of web applications with ASP.Net, Cloud technologies or low code tools (such as Appian).

Security clearance level : FAA Specific Clearance (Comparable to Public Trust)

Skills and abilities: Good communication, problem solving, ability to be self-guided and work independently.

Location : 100% onsite at the FAA in Washington DC or in suburban northern Virginia or Maryland at a GDIT location.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
