The Registered Nurse – Clinic/Wellness/Immunization works ina variety of either remote or clinic locations to serve a specific population'shealth and wellness needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability tomake clinical judgments effectively and efficiently to provide qualityappropriate care in accordance with facility’s policies and protocols. These variety of sites include but are notlimited to community or employment immunization clinics, wellness clinics, jobsafety and workers compensation sites and travel health clinics from pediatricto geriatric age populations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluates a patient’s health status, estimates the level ofhealth risk and informs/provides feedback to patients to motivate behaviorchange to reduce health risks
Identifies and prioritizes actions based on patient carerequirements
Performs interventions according to identified priorities,plan of care, and clinic/site policies
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patientenvironment
Initiates patient and family education when appropriate
Documents patient’s responses to nursing care and otherinterventions as well as follow up recommendations
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment andequipment
Must have working knowledge of universal precautions
Knowledge of protocols for reporting adverse reactions,incidents, and injuries
Knowledge of Workers Compensation assessments and reportingif applicable
Knowledge of Immunization and Vaccine schedules and safety
Administers vaccines or any necessary medications persite/facility protocols
Appropriately stores, transports, and handles vaccines
Safely and appropriately transports biological material,sharps, and other required supplies to clinic sites
Appropriately handles and disposes of biological waste
Completes appropriate participant consent forms and clinicrecords
Inputs information into the client’s database for trackingper policy/protocol and state regulations if applicable
Minimum Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which thenurse practices
One year experience as a nurse in a clinic or immunizationsetting preferred Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
