Our work depends on a Ship Integration & Test (SI&T) Director of Test joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities.At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As the Director of SI&T Test supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together and direct the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide all aspects of a full-scale testing program, to include planning, procedure generation and maintenance, and execution of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) testing across numerous concurrent efforts, onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. This senior position will be tied to both Program Management and Engineering. In this role, you and your team will be responsible for conducting the government provided shipboard test procedures and documenting test completion and test discrepancies. Specific responsibilities include:

Direct all aspects of a full-scale ACS Test Program, across numerous concurrent efforts

Manage your geographically dispersed team of test professionals

Work with GDIT Leadership to grow the relationship and tasking associated with PEO IWS and other relevant NAVSEA customers

Coordinate efforts with fellow ACS Directors across a matrixed organization

Ensure all resource, programmatic and logistical, requirements are in place to properly execute each test event

Assist in the coordination of sea trial testing including training participants on respective test procedures and reviewing status of test results

Conduct shipboard testing according to government furnished test procedures.

Inform the ATO/ATM of test related issues and requirements

Assist Government Test Director/Lead in coordinating to ensure successful completion of all Combat Systems Test events

Ensure that all test, training, and operational event reports are collected from their respective team leaders and test results are promptly reported

Lead quality assurance initiatives and design performance tests using established testing procedures

Use subject matter expertise in designing and developing test and testing requirements for products, systems, software and/or related technology

Lead reporting and analysis for testing

Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and best practices relevant to the industry

Provide expert knowledge in writing test plans and creating test cases for the product

Provide expert level troubleshooting for highly complex testing errors and streamline testing procedures

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

PhD or equivalent and 15+ years of experience as a Test Director or Test Lead for Naval or Combat System program(s) or equivalent experience (or 21+ years of experience without a degree)

Over two (2+) years direct experience in the engineering, installation and/or operation of the Aegis Combat System onboard US Navy ships or Aegis Ashore.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector

A demonstrated ability to work across the Navy/Marine Corps major stakeholder organizations and in particular an understanding of the relationships between NAVSEA, PEO IWS and the Fleet Commands is required to perform this role.

A US DoD Secret security clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI is required.

US Citizenship is required

The likely salary range for this position is $195,500 - $264,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
