Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Real Estate industry, based in Fairfax, Virginia. The role involves conducting financial reporting and analysis, general ledger accounting, and other accounting activities. This role is critical in maintaining the financial health and operations of the organization.Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze financial reports and managerial reports, interpreting financial results. Produce summaries of financial statements and offer comprehensive analysis. Assist in the preparation of financial models and budgets. Verify and review general ledger activity, identifying and rectifying any inaccuracies. Prepare month-end journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements. Recommend procedural and system changes to improve the efficiency of accounting data processing. Assist in the design and implementation of policies and procedures in compliance with accepted accounting principles. Provide work direction and training to assigned accounting staff, when required. Enter and maintain transaction information for planning and project activity. May prepare tax returns and serve as backup for other accounting staff. Ensure compliance with established accounting principles and company policies. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in a Sr. Accountant role within the Real Estate industry. Exceptional skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations. Proficiency in managing General Ledgers and Journal Entries. Advanced user of Microsoft Excel. Comprehensive experience with Month End Close processes. Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
