GDIT is excited to offer you a unique opportunity to join an Agile team utilizing CI/CD pipeline to support one our nation’s most critical homeland missions – the storage and processing of biometric and associated biographic information for national security, law enforcement, immigration and border management, intelligence, background investigations, and associated testing, training, management reporting, planning and analysis.We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer to join our growing team to develop, support, and modernize mission-critical applications for our DHS customer. The successful candidate will help to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications. You will also provide support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases to transform requirements to working solutions. This includes involvement with users to define system scope and objectives, as well as contributing to design decisions.HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACTSpecific responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Use Java and GoLanguage development experience to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications

Provide support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases to transform requirements to working solutions. This includes involvement with users to define system scope and objectives, as well as contributing to design decisions.

Work on new development and re-engineering efforts, including making system design decisions

Implement enhancements to existing system in addition to coordinating with other developers working in parallel and perform QA/testing as needed

Provide software development services on all tiers (UI, Java)

DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven

Java Web Services / Spring Boot / Java EE

Web Development / UI Frameworks / HTML / JavaScript

Relational Database experience (RDBMS)

Database programming using SQL / PostgreSQL DB / MySQL

Experience with test driven development

Experience with Cloud and AWS Administration

Supporting set up of AWS Infrastructure

Experience with RedHat/OpenShift version 4.x

Understanding and preferable experience in with DevOps Scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to software development

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCESSRequired Skills / Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship

DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability

Bachelors degree or equivalent and 5+ years of development experience

Experience with GoLang and Java programming languages

DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven

Java Web Services / Spring Boot / Java EE

Web Development / UI Frameworks / HTML / JavaScript

Knowledge with end-to-end fully-automated CI/CD pipelines, from code commits to production

Relational Database experience (RDBMS)

Experience in Docker, AWS Admin RedHat/OpenShift v4.x

Experience in Agile development methodology

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10+ years of development experience

Desired Skills / Qualifications:

Proven track record as a self-learner keeping current with the latest techniques to include automated code scanning, automated testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts

Experience in Jira to support configuration management in an Agile environment

Experience with Gitlab/GitHub

Perform database programming and supports systems design

Design and Develop system level changes

Interface with client on technical design

Experience with scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to software development

Experience implementing and working within a DevSecOps pipeline

Strong written and verbal communication along with proven fluency of English

Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
