The ideal candidate will be looking for continual growth, can think strategically and mostly importantly, wants to make a positive difference to the people around them.The Systems Analyst Sr Advisor will lead a team focused on all aspects of production support for a suite of complex online and batch applications responsible for MSP recovery, including, but not limited to monitoring system availability, leading the diagnosis of the root cause of production issues, devising the plan to resolve issues, triaging issues to the appropriate resources to implement the corrective action, and following through until issues are resolved. They will work in close collaboration with the Production Support Manager, other Production Support Leads, Software Developers, Analysts Infrastructure Engineers, and Security Analysts to support and maintain the complex, large-scale applications. They will embrace the DevOps philosophies to ensure services allow for the implementation of tools and processes which enable rapid response to identification and remediation of operational issues.HOW A SYSTEMS ANALYST SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT● Develops computer systems specifications that address business requirements and fit with company/customer system architecture standards● Provide technical, business, and operational support to team resources, as well as all associated contractors within the CMS COB&R program.● Work with the other Production Support Leads to assess the impact of issues and devise plans to see them through to resolution.● Perform SME support for daily tasks, to include monitoring and/or troubleshooting application issues to the team.● Troubleshoots and provides technical and operational support and solutions to users, internal or external.●Monitor various web applications, batch reports, file transfers and connectivity alerts or notifications and reacts timely to minimize the user or system impacts when applicable.● Monitors COB&R ticket systems and assigns most complex Service Requests and Help Desk tickets to oneself to ensure timely responses and/or resolution to end users.● Review existing system functional capabilities to identify changes required for implementing new PLOG requests and system fixes.● Identify system enhancements and/or process improvements to reduce manual interventions and/or streamline technical, business and/or operational processes.● Identify ticket trends within the COB&R ticket systems, proactively identifying underlying system issues to resolve before a larger issue arises impacting users, applications, or system networks, communicate details and/or plan of action to Production Support Leadership.● Understand the business need, communication and/or solution of identified production issue and the impact to the end user, understanding the urgency/priority level of an identified or potential system issue.● Provide guidance, direction, and leadership to less-experienced analysts as needed, adhoc or scheduled.● Prepares and updates Production Support documentation for new or existing systems and trains/support PS team accordingly on new functionality. I.e. SOPs, FAQs Support internal and external (CMS, MSP contractors, Third Party affiliations) customers by responding to ad hoc data, business inquiries timely and with quality.● Escalate identified production issues timely and with succinct detail to Production Support Leads to ensure all proper communications to team Management, CMS and/or users are sent timely and within defined SLAs.● Perform system tests to software requirements. Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, and reliability characteristics.● Performs quality assurance review of data, response to users and/or notifications for internal and external delivery.● Develop knowledge of the various application business rules and business operations to meet the needs of the customer and not just system requirements. ● Participate in team Special Projects as required while maintaining key production support tasks.● Participate on the on-call rotation.● Other duties as assigned.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:● Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.● Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience● Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, work processes, and applicable regulations in assigned subject-matter area(s).● Experience in various operating systems i.e. AWS, Mainframe, Windows; UNIX● Experience in various programming Languages i.e. PL/SQL, Java, XML; C, C, PowerBuilder Application.● Experience with databases i.e. DB2, MS SQL Server, MS Access● Extensive use of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.● Experience with claim adjudication/payment and CMS systems such as HIGLAS, MBD, CWF, IDR and/or Medicare Secondary Payer related applications and concepts.● Subject-matter experts performing specialized analysis and design tasks. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned● Demonstrated SQL expertise using various tools against complex databases ● Experience with MS suite, specifically strong knowledge of Excel.● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.● Experience with requirement and functional specification writing.● Experience providing ROM and LOE estimates.● Ability to discuss applications, technical and/or business, with subject matter experts and developers.● Solve issues independently and with others.● Adaptable to shifting priorities and responsibilities.● Thrive in fast paced, team-oriented environment.● Self-motivated and innovative; Must be an independent worker who is comfortable gathering input, formulating a plan, and carrying it to fruition.● Organized, structured, methodical, and diligent; possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize issues and assignments.● Excellent people skills required to interact with teammates and build consensus around effective process and procedure while recognizing other priorities within the group.● Ability to review application changes and communicate to developers any changes, updates that are needed to functional/technical requirements clearly and thoroughly.● Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; recommends improvement to support development effort.● Desire to provide support for team activities, identify ways to improve the work environment and work products, provide motivation to produce high-quality results.● Location: Remote● Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
