Our work depends on a motivated BI Case Reviewer - casual joining our Personnel Vetting and Security team to support a large federal background investigations (BI) program located in Chantilly, VA.At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a BI Case Reviewer - casual you will support a large national background investigations (BI) program that provides investigative products and services to departments and agencies of the federal government. Focused on our Nation’s security, BIs are required to determine an individual’s suitability for employment with the federal government, eligibility for access to classified information, assignment to or retention in positions with sensitive duties, or other designated duties requiring such investigations. The investigations often involve personal and intimate details of an individual’s life and must be processed and conducted with tact and discretion. Information collected by the investigator as part of the BI is protected under the Privacy Act of 1974.In this role, a typical day will include:

Scoping received cases and inputting them into the Case Management system.

Approving quality field investigators reports

Reviewing and assembling completed field investigations for compliance with national standards (FIS-Federal Investigative Standards) and customer requirements

Reviewing completed work for quality assurance purposes

Ensuring the timely review and preparation of reports of investigation for submission to Final Readers

Mentoring and training to investigators and/or new reviewers on techniques, procedures, and use of job-related computer systems

Managing organizational aspects of assigned cases to ensure timeliness in workload

Ability to work non-traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends, when necessary

Your success will be measured through timeliness and the highest quality, while meeting customer needs

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Experience with background investigations for U.S. Government Agencies (required)

Experience with Federal Investigative Standards (FIS) and Expandable Focused Investigation (EFI) models (required)

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required; relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education (required)

Active Secret clearance (required)

At minimum one-year of relevant experience (required)

At minimum of one-year prior experience as a field investigator, technical writer, editor or reviewer (required)

Must have an understanding of the essential functions of a background investigator to include the requirements to satisfy investigative case acceptance

Above average computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (required)

Casual position, must be able to work independently and proactively

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.11 - $35.65. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
