Safety Coordinator - Chester, VAWe are actively hiring a Safety Coordinator to support one of the leading companies in Renewable Resources with an Ash Pond (aka Coal Ash Basin or Surface Impoundment) project in Chester, Virginia. The greater Ash Pond project consists of multiple "smaller" projects-within-the-project, so this site can provide candidates with multiple years of consistent work in this one location. This position will be needed at least through the next 12 months, and top performers in this role may be asked to stay long-term for the larger project based on the quality of their work in this role. This is a great chance for candidates to add a unique 70+ acre ash pond project to their resume, as well as a note-worthy tier-one utility client! Job Requirements:
5+ years of heavy industrial construction experience (will not consider light commercial or less than 5 years)
Active OSHA 500, CHST, or CSP - REQUIRED (candidates without 1 of these active certs will not be considered)
Demonstrated skills in reliability, communication, conflict resolution, initiative, and problem-solving
Ability to stay self-motivated and proactive with engagement onsite
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct Walk-Downs, Safety Inspections, Site Training, and Daily Reporting.
Perform any required Safety Inspections, Audits, and Reports for construction onsite.
Ensure that Safe Construction Practices are being utilized by all personnel onsite.
Document Recordables, Incidents, and Daily Updates within site OSHA 300 log.
Work with Safety Team to support the site and Report Director of Safety for all daily activity.
Compensation:
Target Compensation is $40-45/hour with 1.5x after 40 hours in a week.
This will be either a 5x10 or 6x10 schedule, so candidates can expect 10-20 hours of overtime. This can vary based on project demands.
Per Diem will be paid $120/day for all 7-days/week, and mileage will be provided to site.
Candidate will be given a laptop and on-site vehicle to travel throughout the facility.
