SummaryThe CT Scan Technician is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the CT department and throughout the organization.Eligible for up to a $15,000 Commitment Bonus!Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThese duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.

Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and by the identification band on in-patients

Use schedule to maximum efficiency, maintain patient flow, and schedule add-ons

Produce high quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique

Proficiently use scanners and laser printers

Follow all protocols and procedures to meet department standards

Work closely with the radiology nurse and the radiologist when performing biopsy and drainage procedures

Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions

Follow department, NRC, and State regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA"

Review patient’s chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follow written and/or verbal protocols and instructions

Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate supervisor

Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or credits

Educate patient, and family when necessary, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome

Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel

Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services

Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care
