This position is located in Charlottesville, VA. Qualified candidates must be willing / able to commute to the Charlottesville area.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter / Working Foreman who brings the ability to produce and the energy to manage our job sites and various trade partners We need an adaptable, personable, and proactive team leader to own this position. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to grow into a Project Management position. Under the direction of a Project Manager / Field Manager, you will be responsible for the daily management of on-site operations for our projects. This is a role that is 50% production and 50% site supervision and where your hands-on construction skills and leadership skills will be equally vital. You will be asked to supervise field production on projects, overseeing subcontractors, interacting with vendors, clients, and inspectors, in order to make sure each project remains on schedule, is built according to the design and specifications, and is executed at the highest quality level . You will also demonstrate leadership skills and will maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate day to day trade contractor scheduling and supervise field production

Assist team with project planning and developing site logistics

Work closely with the Project Manager to identify and solve problems

Read and comprehend plans, specifications, and manufacturer requirements and instructions

Perform miscellaneous hands-on tasks across most trades in support of our production partners for the benefit of the project schedule or budget.

Use hand and power tools

Confirm the accuracy of completed work and ensure all deficiencies are corrected.

Coordinate and supervise all construction activities

Ensure safety requirements are met

Ensure proper signage is posted on the job site

Qualifications:

Must have carpentry experience (5 + Years) and knowledge of remodeling and new home construction

Proven ability to deliver projects on time and on budget

Ability to read and understand Architectural plan sets (all disciplines)

Technical understanding of residential construction including building codes, trade sequencing, and best building practices

Must have your own tools

Ability to gather information, prepare reports and communicate clearly and professionally.

Capable of rapid problem solving

Experience with complex detailed projects

Compensation:

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour based on experience.
