Purpose
To ship or assist in the shipping of orders for products to individuals, retail outlets, practitioners, and online warehouses on a daily basis.
Essential Duties
Follow all directives given by and through the Operations Director or Supervisor and various operational procedures related to the Division and Department where tasks are being carried out. Specifically, as per trainings, concerned with:
Shipping and receiving practices;
Consistent communication;
Record keeping;
Personnel safety; and
Overall concern for the success of the assignment.
Shipping practices include creating a pick list, collecting the respective items, and fulfilling the orders. Receiving practices include checking shipped items against a packing list as they enter the plant and grounds.
Consistent communication includes checking email and other notification methods for items of note and responding to those items of note regarding the orders to be processed for shipping as per the department’s operational procedures.
Record keeping includes periodic inventory counts, logging daily what items were shipped and their corresponding batch numbers.
Safety includes general mindfulness, protective precautions, and qualified training regarding methods, tools, equipment, and other aspects of production used.
Overall concern includes a mind towards providing the best possible experience for the customer receiving the package, which includes attentiveness to the accuracy and presentation of the order upon receipt.
Specific departmental duties as per operational procedures may involve:
Using weights and measures for shipping cost calculation;
Troubleshooting problems that may arise;
Using computers, specialized printers, and other such task related equipment, tools, or machines.
