WE’RE LOOKING FOR A SPECIAL PERSON

Grow More Farms has an opening for the 2024 poultry season.

Grow More Farms is located in Palmyra, Virginia and is a founding owner/member and primary producer for the newly formed Blackbird Collective; a regenerative, food sovereignty based cooperative agribusiness.

From April to November you’re immersed in life cycle and field management of 12,000 broilers and 1,000 laying hens on 10 pastured acres. You will also transport and process broilers.

A typical week will include 5 days of early morning poultry chores. Twice a month you will work a 12-hour day transporting and processing broilers with the Blackbird kill crew; a Black-led, outspoken, rowdy bunch with a wild collection of life experiences, who genuinely enjoy one another’s company and are dedicated to building a new kind of wealth engine in our corner of the world.

All people are encouraged to apply and will be welcomed. No agricultural experience or prior interest is required. Ideal candidates are, in a word, hustlers, and have a demonstrated history as such. You’re eager to make things happen in the real world, tough as nails, hard to knock down, quick to get up.

The position pays a monthly salary of $1,440 based on a 72-hour month at an hourly rate of $20. A valid drivers license is required.

Be a key player in making the 2024 season a success and manage the 2025 operation: tracking to becoming a Blackbird Collective partner-owner.
