Part-Time Facilities Manager – Private Residence

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Facilities Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of a private second home located in [Location, optional]. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule and competitive compensation based on experience. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a high standard of care for the property, ensuring everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and with discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee maintenance and repair of the property’s structure, systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), and grounds

Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, appliances, sockets, and wiring to identify and address potential hazards

Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance, repairs, and seasonal upkeep for household systems and equipment

Manage contracts and relationships with service providers (e.g., cleaners, landscapers, HVAC techs, security personnel)

Supervise and ensure the quality of vendor work

Maintain and monitor security systems and protocols, coordinate with security services as needed

Handle incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and packages

Ensure the property is clean, well-stocked, and well-presented at all times

Manage household inventory, including cleaning supplies, and other essentials

Prepare the home for the family’s arrival (e.g., climate control) and close it down upon departure

Serve as the primary liaison between the property owner and contractors or service personnel

Identify and anticipate potential issues before they arise and take proactive measures to resolve them

Ensure landscaping is well-maintained and outdoor areas are safe and aesthetically pleasing year-round

Maintain documentation of maintenance schedules, service agreements, and household manuals

Qualifications:

Prior experience in facilities, estate, or property management preferred

Strong organizational skills with a proactive and hands-on approach

Ability to coordinate multiple vendors and manage household logistics with minimal supervision

Technically skilled in basic home systems maintenance and repair

Discretion, trustworthiness, and professionalism are essential

Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
