Greenwood Grocery is a fast-paced community hub with 25 years of experience in supporting local growers and producers, creating standout deli food and sandwiches, and curating our team and offerings to make this a fun, challenging, and rewarding place to work. We are looking for a part- to full-time sandwich maker/line cook with or without prior experience, who is excited about food and wants to learn from some of the best. We value commitment highly, and have a strong preference for candidates who hope to stay with us for the long term; this is not a seasonal position. This role includes some weekends but regular 9-5 working hours, no nights or evenings.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete sandwich and salad orders throughout the day
- Prep ingredients, including slicing meats, grilling vegetables, making spreads, pickling toppings, etc!
- Assist with other kitchen prep as needed, including deli items, special orders, & packaged goods
- Help with kitchen cleanup and dishes throughout the day and during closing
The ideal candidate:
- Some experience in kitchens is preferred but not necessary; we’re happy to train you!
- Passionate about high quality food
- Knowledge or enthusiasm about supporting local producers
- Good work ethic
- Team-working skills; it is a small kitchen with lots of cross-talk and everyone helps others when needed regardless of roles
Compensation:
- Role starts at $18/hr for candidates with little previous experience, but rapid increases and lots of room to grow depending on proficiency and desired responsibility.
