Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team in
creating wholesome, nourishing vegetarian meals for our community. This role is ideal for someone
passionate about food, leadership, and fostering a harmonious, mindful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead & Inspire the Kitchen Team – Oversee scheduling, training, and daily operations while
fostering a positive and organized work environment. The Kitchen Manager works with a diverse
group, including staff, interns, community members, and guest program participants.
Plan & Prepare Nutritious Meals – Develop weekly meal plans, guide cooking techniques, and
accommodate various dietary needs, including vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-conscious options.
All meals are served buffet-style in the main dining hall, three times a day.
Manage Ordering & Budgeting – Supervise inventory, source high-quality ingredients, and
ensure financial goals are met.
Maintain Hygiene & Safety Standards – Uphold strict food safety protocols, cleanliness, and
equipment maintenance.
Foster Communication & Community Engagement – Work closely with staff, interns, and
volunteers while supporting the Leadership Team in developing the Ashram’s Lifestyle
Principles. The kitchen is a dynamic space with frequent activity, requiring clear communication
and effective delegation.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience cooking for large groups with a focus on seasonal, whole foods.
Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
Knowledge of vegetarian and specialized diets.
Ability to manage budgets, inventory, and kitchen logistics efficiently.
Commitment to a clean, safe, and harmonious kitchen environment.
A flexible, friendly attitude with a passion for teamwork and service.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time position that includes salary and housing, as well as immersion into Yoga and
meditation
